Jeff Wohlgenannt, for many years active in the jazz scene, was already awarded before his classical and jazz study at the conservatoires of Bregenz and Graz 1976 at the international jazz festival Nagold, Germany as best bassist. As a demanded jazz bassist he played at most Jazz festivals throughout Europe,e.g. „Grand Parade du Jazz“ Nizza (France), Berlin Jazz Festival (Germany), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Jazzfrühling Vienna (Austria), Jazzwochen Burghausen (Germany), Jazzwochen Villingen (Germany), Varaszdin (Yugoslavia), Marbor (Slovenia), Nagykanizsa (Hungary), Steirischer Herbst Graz (Austria), Jazzfestival Velden (Austria) etc.

His tours with stars and artists like Art Farmer, Tom Harrell, Bill Goodwin, Jonny Griffin, Woody Shaw, Buddy de Franco, Barbara Thompson, Karl Ratzer, Fritz Pauer, Joe Haider, Erich Bachträgl, Lee Harper, Danny Moss, Werner Pirchner, Harry Pepl, Edgar Wilson, Allan Praskin, Lou Blackburn, Tone Jansa etc. led him through many jazz clubs of Europe and the USA. During 8 years Jeff was member of Charly Antolinis "Jazz Power". Also Jeff Wohlgenannt always played in his own bands like "Jeff's Unit" and currently "Jeff Wohlgenannt & Friends".

The specialty of "Jeff Wohlgenannt & Friends" are the different instrumentations and players. Whether it's Funk, Blues, Latin, intuitive Ballads or swinging grooves, agile and with huge delight in playing the band inspires and offers an expressive and wide stylistic pallet.
